In System Settings/Tags/Backup, it is possible to make and restore backup of settings values. Backups can be made according to a schedule selected in the Backup settings menu or by selecting manual backup.
In the schedule settings there are 5 options: Inactive, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Custom interval. The start time defines when the backup is to run the first time. Subsequently it will be updated according to the selected interval. Setting a start time in the past will run the backup immediately and the next run will be calculated according to the interval.
Selection of tags to be backed up is done in the lib.conf of the symbol libraries under "Backup” (See
Chapter "Symbol Library").
Information
It is possible to specify exactly which tag suffixes are to be backed up, but there is also support for wildcards with “#” or “*”. # matches all integers, * matches all characters. For example it is possible to use SP# instead of SP1, SP2, SP3, and in this example SP* would yield the same results.
Backup is taken asynchronously and takes place in the background. When backup is complete, the result is shown in the table.
Settings and details of each backup are reached by clicking the corresponding line in the table. It is also possible to download backup files, which are then saved in json format.
By selecting open backup, the table shows all saved values and their status.
Backup is recovered by selecting Recover. By selecting filter tags, recovery can be done on a subset of the tags. Individual tags are restored by clicking on them and selecting Restore.
Downloaded backups can also be uploaded to be used for recovery.
