Pipe-package measures the temperature on pipes. The temperature sensor is located at the end of the cable and needs to be well insulated to measure accurately.
One example of sensor placements, secondary supply/return and hot water return
Preparation
-
Always place the sensor under existing insulation.
-
Place the sensor at least 2m from the heat exchanger as to avoid misleading temperatures.
-
Make sure the sensor is placed on the apartment side of the pump.
Mounting
-
Cut out a piece of the insulation large enough to mount the sensor.
-
Apply a generous amount contact paste on the concave side of the sensor.
-
Apply the concave side with the contact paste directly on the pipe then use a zip-tie to secure the sensor.
-
Place the insulation back onto the pipe.
-
Attach the mounting plate to the pipe with zip-ties. Then mount the device directly onto the mounting plate.
-
Scan the QR-code on the device, enter the site and follow the registration steps. (You will need a contract number which will be available from Kiona)
Registration
-
Login with your details, if you do not have an account - Contact Kiona Support
-
