In this article, we will explore the alarm functions in Web Port and how to navigate the alarm list. We'll cover different views, columns, and the actions you can take with alarms such as acknowledging and blocking them. Additionally, we'll discuss accessing alarm history and managing alarm settings.
When alarm functions are activated in Web Port, an alarm bell is displayed in the top menu. The bells’s appearance varies depending on whether there are active alarms or not.
The alarm bell has the following modes:
|ONLY BELL||No active alarms|
|BELL STRIKES + EXCLAMATION||Unacknowledged alarms|
|BELL + EXCLAMATION MARK||Active acknowledged alarms|
To get to the alarm list, click the clock (ALARM) in the top menu. The alarm list shows active alarms and unacknowledged alarms. If an alarm is reverted and has been acknowledged, it disappears from the list.
The alarm list can be displayed in the following views:
|ALARM LIST||Displays active alarms and unacknowledged alarms (default view)|
|BLOCKED ALARM||Displays a list of blocked alarms|
|ALL ALARMS||Displays a list of all Web Port alarms|
|ANALYSIS ALARM||Shows frequency of alarms during different time periods|
|RULES||Displays alarm rules settings (Requires advanced permissions for Alarms or global administrator permissions. See Chapter Alarms->Basic settings.)|
The alarm list columns by default show the following information, but it can also be configured under global alarm settings:
|Class||The alarm classification (category), for example 1,2,3 or A, B, C|
|Name||Alarm tag name|
|Area||Any area attached to the alarm tag|
|Time||Time when the alarm event occurred|
|Status||Alarm status (shown with icon and text)|
|Description||Descriptive text for the alarm (same as the tag description)|
NOTE! The configured columns in the alarmlist will be mirrored when doing an export!
Each line in the alarm list can have the following colours and icon and text to indicate alarm state:
|OK (not Occurred)|
Clicking on a line in the alarm list opens a dialog with information about the alarm, latest alarm events and its current state. From the dialog, the alarm can be acknowledged or blocked. You can also see alarm history and navigate to the page the alarm belongs to (if any).
You can filter the alarm-list by several different categories:
You can store your customized filters by clicking on "Save filter"-button above the options. When you have saved your filter you can easily pick a filter to use in the alarm list by clicking on "Pick a filter".
Also you can click on "Use as default". Then Your default filter will always be active when going into alarm management.
NOTE! Your alarm popup will also use your default filter when high-lightning alarms.
To acknowledge an alarm, navigate to the alarm list via the top menu (ALARMS) and then click on the desired alarm. In the dialog that opens, click the ACKNOWLEDGE button down to the left.
The alarm will now change color and status in the alarm list. Its also possible to right click the table to acknowledge a specific alarm.
To acknowledge all alarms in the alarm list, use the button “Acknowledge all” in the upper menu.
When using the filter function to search for specific alarms the “Acknowledge all” button will change behavior to only acknowledge the alarms being shown in the filtered list.
The text on the button will also change to “Acknowledge filtered”.
Web Port has the ability to auto-acknowledge alarms if desired. This is done through settings on the tag (see chapter "Tag settings->Alarm options").
To block an alarm, navigate to the alarm list via the top menu (ALARMS) and then click on the desired alarm. If the alarm is not active, change the view to ALL ALARMS. In the dialog that opens, Alarm Mode is changed to Blocked. The alarm is now reached from the BLOCKED ALARMS view.
To remove the alarm, navigate to the alarm list via the top menu (ALARM) and then change the view to BLOCKED ALARM. Click the desired alarm in the list and set Alarm Mode to Normal in the dialog that opens.
Blocked alarms are not displayed in the active alarm list and are not sent as e-mail or SMS.
To reach alarm history, navigate to the alarms list via the top menu (ALARMS), change view to ALL ALARMS and then click on the desired alarm tag. In the dialog that opens, click the HISTORY button.
