This guide describes the improved contracts experience in Edge. The contracts view now works as an interactive hub for contract details and documentation, making it easier to access, manage and share contract-related information.
What has changed?
The table is easier to work with. Contract number, Building name and Building address replace the previous combined column. Addons and Contract area remain available.

How to use the contracts view
- Go to the contracts view in Edge.
- Use the Contract number, Building name and Building address columns to find the right contract.
- Sort the table by selecting a column heading.
- Check the document count in the row to see how many documents are linked to the contract.
- Open the contract to view, manage or share relevant documentation.
Tip: Use sorting together with the document count to find contracts with related documentation faster.

What you’ll notice
More balanced, responsive comfort
Edge can fine-tune how heating is steered so that your buildings return to a comfortable indoor temperature more smoothly when:
- outdoor or indoor conditions change, or
- the target setpoint for indoor temperature is updated.
The system aims to balance steady, efficient operation with a faster response when warmth is needed—so you spend less time too cold or too warm, without unnecessary back-and-forth.
Clearer control when you turn off automatic self-optimization
You can turn off automatic self-optimization when you want full manual control. When you do:
Automatic self-optimization is off, and you still have access to manual control of Adaption Zones, so you can adjust what you need without losing the tools you use to steer the building.
You decide when the system should optimize on its own and when you prefer to drive settings yourself.
Self-optimization is disabled, yet Adaptation Zones/manual controls remain visible and operable.
You always see the optimized curve
Previously, the optimized curve could be hidden, which made it hard to see what the system was actually using when talking to the equipment.
Now we keep showing the optimized curve so you can see what is being communicated for control — reducing confusion and making it easier to trust what you see on screen.
A consistent look for your data
We're pleased to announce an update that will make your data easier to understand. We've refreshed the colour palettes used in graphs and charts, focusing on the Consumption module and the Energy Target addon.
The new colours for electricity and energy connected to hot water align with industry best practices. This change will also provide a more consistent experience across our platform, making reading and interpreting your energy data easier. This update is a key step in our ongoing commitment to refining and improving our platform to serve you better.

The most significant changes are for electricity, which changes from yellow to green, and for hot water, which changes from blue to red.

The latest updates in Edge
Sensor selection
Selecting the best reference sensors to help with building optimization and achieve a stable indoor climate for tenants can be time-consuming. A building is very dynamic, and indoor temperatures are influenced by many factors, some of which should be ignored when optimizing the heating system.
To help with this task, we now introduce an automatic selection of reference sensors. This continuously evaluates the temperature characteristics of all sensors and selects the most suitable ones for optimization.
The feature can be turned on or off, depending on your needs. When off, you can still manually select which sensors are used for reference, like before.
This feature is available in all Edge plans.
Peak Control steering visualization (Add-on)
Our Peak Control reduces power loads by balancing the heat in your building in advance. This is done by proactively adding heat before a peak and avoiding energy use during the expensive peaks in the distribution. To illustrate how the steering works, we have introduced a graph showing how the load shifts in time steering visualization.
That way, you can see more clearly when the heat is added, and energy is avoided according to the temperature peaks

Export of alarm cards
Alarm cards are a great way to aggregate and emphasise issues in your portfolio. We have now introduced the option to export all active alarms from the cards to Excel. This makes it easier to work with current issues and plan for actions in a structured way with tools you already use.
This feature is available in all Edge plans.
Search in building tree
Sometimes, you need to quickly reach a specific building and might not know how the portfolio is structured. To improve the experience and make this easier, we have introduced a search field in the building tree. Simply write the name of the building, and it will appear immediately.
This feature is available in all Edge plans.
Insights face-lift
To make finding reports in Edge Insights easier, we have added a search and improved the presentation of available reports and your personal favourites.

New layout to the Edge platform
What will be new in Edge?
Edge users will recognize themselves in the new interface, and there are only a few updates to the Edge layout.
- Icons have been modernised
- ”Overview” is now named ”Dashboard”
- Version number and change log is moved to top menu
- New top menu*
New top menu includes
- Account settings
- Product settings
- Support section (with link to product issue reports and idea portal)
- Kiona Product-Switcher - if you have more than one Kiona product this is where you easily move between them
Apart from these updates, Edge will operate in the same way as always.
