Guide to acknowledging alarms

This guide explains how to acknowledge alarms received via SMS in the IWMAC system. Several methods are available to ensure alarms are confirmed and handled quickly and efficiently.

Methods for acknowledging alarms

When you receive an alarm via SMS, you must acknowledge receipt. This can be done in several ways as described below.

1. Via web

To acknowledge alarms via web:

• Log in to IWMAC Operation Center.
• If you are at the facility, you can also log in via "IWMAC Operation Center" on a PC on site.

Once logged in, follow these steps:

• Select Alarms.
• Click "Confirm all" to acknowledge all alarms at once.
• If you only want to acknowledge specific alarms, tick the relevant alarms and click "Confirm selected".

2. From your mobile phone (duty phone)

To acknowledge alarms from your mobile phone:

• Call [phone].
• You will hear a voice confirming: "Acknowledgement received".
• All alarms are then automatically acknowledged.

3. Via SMS to IWMAC SMS centre

To acknowledge alarms via SMS:

• Reply to the received alarm by sending an SMS with the command:
• IOC ACK facility number (e.g. IOC ACK 0000).
• All alarms are then automatically acknowledged.

Note

If you have not activated alarm repetition on your facility, you do not need to acknowledge alarms manually.
