Create tag
To create a new tag from Web Ports web interface, open a tag list in edit view as described in chapter "Tag Settings". Click New tag in the toolbar menu and fill in the needed settings.
Copy tag
To copy an existing tag, open a tag list in edit view. Click the tag to be copied, and click Copy in the side menu. Web Port will create a new tag with the same settings as the copied tag, and only the name needs to be changed. Click Save to save the new tag. Remember to save the tag list in the toolbar menu above.
Search tags
To search for a specific tag, use the search box in the tag list. The search will look through all columns of a tag, for example, name, address and description.
Limitations: The following characters cannot be searched on their own:
- ' (single quote)
- ; (semicolon)
- ? (question mark)
- . (period)
If these characters are included in a search, they must be part of a larger string to return results. Searching with only these characters will not return any results.
Remove tags
To remove an existing tag, open a tag list in edit view. Click the tag to be deleted, and click Delete in the sidemenu. Confirm removal. Remember to save the tag list in the toolbar menu above.
Import tags
In Web Port it is possible to import tags directly from a device, depending on the driver used. This is done by clicking Import tags from the toolbar menu. For more information about tag import, see the manual for the specific driver used.
NOTE!
When importing tags, ensure that they consist only of uppercase letters (A–Z), numbers (0–9), and underscores ( _ ) as a separator. Tags must not include spaces or other special characters.
During the import process:
- Lowercase letters will automatically be converted to uppercase.
- Spaces and unsupported characters will be removed.
Make sure your tags conform to these guidelines to avoid unexpected modifications.
