Remote Access is a service for accessing equipment on the customer network. It consists of a standalone application that the end user needs to download and run. I.e. not a pure browser solution. But the web pages can interact with the Remote Access app, i.e. e. start the app with the user's credentials / selected plant ID.
The service runs on the plant, which (on request) can connect to iwmac.net to get instructions on what to do. The service is able to expose a set of fixed (predefined) ip:port or a set of dynamic (by scanning) ip:port. The service acts as a proxy and directs traffic from the end user to the selected equipment.
The Remote Access app also connects to iwmac.net. It establishes a set of tcp servers hosted on localhost addresses and also acts as a proxy, directing traffic to the service at the facility.
If the user has the correct access, the solution can be accessed in the following ways:
- Button in Operation Centre
- https://iwmac.net/remote_access/
-
RAC button in Service mode
Equipment types that are supported in Remote Access:
-
Carel Boss (http, https)
-
AK2 (binary protocol, use AK2 Service Tool)
-
AK3 (http, https), both single AK3 and master/slave configuration.
-
Green & Cool (old version) (http and binary protocol, needs Internet Explorer)
General equipment supported in Remote Access:
-
Support all http
-
Support most https
-
Support most binary protocols, the user may use 3rd party software connecting to the exposed localhost port.
NB! UDP is unfortunately not yet supported
